Job Description

The MEP Project Manager’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Leading and managing the MEP team and subcontractors, ensuring timely completion of the project whilst complying with all necessary standards, codes of practice and safety regulations. Manage all MEP aspects of the project and coordinate with clients and MEP teams as necessary to facilitate contract requirement.

Provide the design and planning input for the MEP works. Create MEP master schedule and identify relevant critical paths. Maintain good rapport with client’s consultants and team. Establish a sound MEP subcontractors/suppliers network. Manage resources within projects.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding and experience of Project Management processes. Must have experience in a similar role, handling complex MEP systems for industrial, hospitals, or data centre projects. Must have at least 10 years’ experience in relevant construction projects. Experience in logistics management and construction process is required, as well as management of schedules for projects that are time critical. Must have experience in health and safety, quality, and risk management. Testing and commissioning skills or experience will be preferred.

Candidates need to have a comprehensive understanding of Malaysia codes, best practices, and respective building code guideline. Stakeholder Management experience is essential and must have experience in fast-track projects within Malaysia. Must have knowledge or experience in managing project implementation plans and have a thorough understanding of technical interface for large-scale construction, Design, Programme and Budget Control.

Will ideally have experience liaising with international teams across Asia. Previous experience in client or consultancy project management is preferred. Must be conversant in both English & Malay.
