Job Description
The responsibilities of the Digital Engineering Manager include but are not limited to:
Working alongside the Corporate Innovation Manager to set innovation and digital engineering goals and plans for the construction project. Propose and implement the Strategic Smart Management System (SSMS) utilizing various digital applications, while spearheading innovation and digital endeavors throughout the project, integrating SMART technologies like AI, IoT, BIM, Robotics, CDE, and digital solutions.
Create and execute inventive construction approaches and digital engineering methods, embracing new technologies, practices, and materials. Foster innovative problem-solving within the project team and promote a digital transformation culture. Stay informed on the latest construction industry trends, digital advancements, and materials, and seek opportunities to apply them in projects.
Conduct training sessions to enhance the team’s proficiency in innovative and digital construction techniques. Manage relationships with startups, innovation partners, and external stakeholders, collaborating with internal departments to procure innovative materials and digital tools. Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards in implementing digital solutions. Establish and oversee metrics to evaluate the success of innovation initiatives.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate must have bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or any related discipline with corporate membership in HKIE qualification or equivalent. Must have a minimum of 8 years’ experience in AI data analytics and IoT project implementation. At least 8 years of work experience, ideally in the construction industry, focusing on innovation, digital engineering, or project management.
Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, materials, digital engineering solutions, and industry technology trends. Will have a track record of managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with external partners. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and implement digital engineering solutions in construction projects.
Must have the ability to liaise with international innovation networks to source solutions globally and propose international follow-ups within the network’s best innovation partners. Strong project management, team management, and innovative problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills and fluency in Cantonese and English.
Proficiency in construction management software, digital engineering tools, and relevant computer applications. Thorough understanding of safety and regulatory standards in the construction industry. A passion for continuous learning and keeping abreast of the latest industry trends.
