Job Description

The Construction Manager will be responsible for the construction management of the project, as well as Stakeholder Management.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Overall planning, implementation, execution, and completion of the project. Managing all onsite and offsite constructions and assist in the coordination of multi-disciplinary works within a project including handling project planning, budget and cost control, safety, and quality system implementation. Leading and coordinating works amongst the project team and oversee and direct all phases of the construction projects. Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors. Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.

Selecting tools, materials and equipment and track inventory. Creating an effective plan to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones. Closely monitoring compliance with building and safety regulations, ensuring quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques whilst ensuring successful completion of the project.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate must have a degree in a relevant discipline, along with at least 12 years’ experience in construction and Additions and Alterations works in a similar role, ideally within hospitality. Must have Programme and Cost Management experience and have worked on fast-track projects within Macau. Experience working with client and/or project management consultant is preferable.

A detailed understanding of technical interface for and applicable to large scale construction, Design, Programme and Budget Control is vital to have. Risk management and mitigation skills are vital to have, as well as stakeholder and logistical management skills. Project implementation plans management experience. Must have the ability to liaise with international teams across Asia.

The candidate must be eligible to work in Macau and is conversant in both Cantonese and English. Must have a detailed understanding of Macau codes, best practices, and respective building code guideline.
