Job Description

The responsibilities of the Commercial Director include but are not limited to:

Support and guide commercial matters in projects, aiding staff to reach their full potential. Communicate with clients to address commercial inquiries and enhance project profitability. Handle contractor and consultant payments, internal cost assessments, and cost projections.

Negotiate subcontracts, manage bid processes, and analyze cost overruns. Maintain logs, review variation submissions, draft contractual letters, and respond to claims. Advise on financial contractual matters, ensure completeness of requirements, and reconcile quantities accurately.

Assist in internal invoicing and manage financial contractual issues throughout the contract duration. Identify valid contractual claims and prepare necessary documentation for clients.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience, including 10 years in a PMC setting and 3 years in the Middle East. Preferably has experience in mixed-use development for master developer clients. Experience in both pre and post contract phases, including working with development budgets.

The candidate must have demonstrated ability to provide strategic guidance to clients. Proficiency in contract administration, procurement, and managing cost consultants is vital to have. Strong team player and communicator, capable of meeting deadlines independently, along with excellent written and spoken English communication skills, including technical writing.
