Job Description

The key role of the Senior Quantity Surveyor will be handling various traditional quantity surveying activities for the data centre project(s), including estimating, planning, cost management, cost monitoring, and accurate and timely financial reporting. The role requires exercising sound financial acumen with a key focus on proactively maximizing value for clients.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Liaising with clients, architects, and main contractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout projects. Identifying and facilitating new business opportunities to expand the company’s client base. Developing masterplan and feasibility budgets to provide accurate cost projections. Conducting cost checking of developing designs to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints. Implementing value engineering techniques to optimize project costs without compromising quality.

Conducting tender evaluations and analysis to select the most cost-effective contractors and suppliers. Leading contract negotiations to establish favorable terms and conditions for the company. Developing cash flow projections to manage project finances effectively. Overseeing procurement processes to acquire materials and services at competitive prices. Generating cost reports to track project expenditures and identify areas for cost optimization.

Preparing final account reports to summarize project costs and ensure contractual compliance. Handling claims preparation, presentation, negotiation, and settlement to resolve disputes effectively. Conducting investment analysis to assess the financial viability of projects. Formulating and implementing benchmarking processes to improve the consistency, accuracy, and efficiency of cost models and plans.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction from a recognized tertiary institution are essential. Experience working with construction consultants will be highly preferable.

Must be proficient in cost estimating and planning software, particularly Cost X. Must have a proven experience of successfully securing and managing major projects. Experience in managing mission-critical projects or similarly intricate designs is crucial.
