Our client is EPC main contractor involved in engineering, procurement and construction of steel structure, process, piping, mechanical, electrical & Instrumentation for offshore platforms, bridges and on-land structure fabrication.

Job Description

The Senior Rotating Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Creating datasheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating equipment and packages, and collaborating with various disciplines to gather required information. Evaluating technical bids from vendors offering rotating equipment and packages. Reviewing vendor drawings.

Conducting inspections and attending Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for rotating equipment and packages as necessary. Assisting production and brownfield teams with installation and pre-commissioning activities for rotating equipment and packages when needed. Conducting material handling studies for facilities, coordinating with all disciplines for input, and preparing material handling reports.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in managing rotating equipment and packages, with a background in the oil and gas sector considered advantageous.

Previous roles should demonstrate extensive hands-on involvement in the design and engineering of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, blowers, turbines, as well as process and utility packages. Proficiency with industry codes and standards for design, selection, inspection, and testing, including API, BS, ASME, HIS, among others, is essential.

The candidate should be capable of independently gathering necessary inputs from relevant disciplines, generating engineering documents such as specifications, datasheets, reports, and calculations, as well as preparing requisitions, conducting technical bid evaluations, reviewing vendor documents, and liaising with other disciplines to obtain required inputs.

A strong understanding of inspection and testing requirements for rotating equipment and process and utility packages is crucial, with commissioning experience viewed favorably. Additionally, a sound knowledge of material selection and specification is essential. Fluency in both written and spoken English is required.
