Job Description
The Legal Counsel’s primary role will be to report directly to the Head of Legal. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborating closely with senior lawyers within the company’s legal team, providing timely, practical, and commercially focused legal advice to support the growth of the business. This includes strategic projects across the Asia Pacific region.
Assist the legal team across various matters, encompassing construction, procurement, data center operations, IP and trademark, real estate, energy and renewable power, corporate structuring, capital raising, and general commercial contracts such as confidentiality agreements.
On a daily basis, review, comment on, and draft a wide range of commercial contracts under the supervision of senior lawyers. Offer legal advice that is accurate, practical, and easily comprehensible to non-legal staff across various business units. Coordinate external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions throughout APAC.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the company’s operations, technologies, and products/services. Provide input and support for global and regional initiatives. Promote legal and compliance awareness within the business, including conducting training sessions.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate must have a Law degree obtained from a recognized law school. Needs to have minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience. Candidates from law firms with robust generalist corporate expertise, commercial insight, and a keenness to engage closely with business operations are strongly encouraged to apply. Additional experience or interest in the construction and major projects domain is advantageous.
Proficient in drafting, negotiating, transaction management, and fostering relationships. Capable of assessing and advising on legal risk while offering solution-oriented guidance. Exceptional interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse business teams and locations.
