Our Client is an international Claims Consultant that provides construction contract consultancy services to the construction engineering, power, process, petrochemical and oil and gas industries worldwide dealing specifically with the many disputes and varied problems which frequently arise.
Job Description
The Associate Director will report directly to the Managing Director. The key role will be to provide top-of-the-class consultancy services that cover the following:
Contract administration related disputes and claims under construction contracts. Loss and expense, extension of time, and variation claims preparation. Analysis of claims received from contractors and/or subcontractors, on behalf of Owners or Employers. Assisting a delay expert or quantum or delay expert or acting as a testifying quantum or delay expert witness in arbitration, litigation, or adjudication proceedings.
Education and Experience
The successful candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, Construction Management, Civil/Structural Engineering, Architecture or similar with at least 15 years’ work experience. It will be an advantage to have knowledge of the interpretation of construction contracts. Must have membership of a relevant Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Architecture professional institution. Prior experience in claims analysis preparation and contractual advice provision.
Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will be required. It is beneficial to have knowledge of the use Primavera or Microsoft Project. Must have a high level of integrity, have strong organizational and analytical skills. Needs to be able to lead a team whilst working independently and still deliver within budget and timeline. Must have excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
