Job Description

As a Senior Subcontract Specialist, you will be pivotal in driving our contractual success, ensuring obligations are not only met but exceeded. Your role involves delivering excellence on schedule and enhancing financial outcomes.

You will collaborate with the Project Commercial Manager and team on all subcontract issues, offering strategic advice, negotiating terms, preparing tender documents, and managing subcontract formation and changes. Key responsibilities include resolving disputes, optimizing costs, and ensuring effective contract delivery.

Work closely with project leaders to develop strategies, monitor budgets, and provide financial insights. Maintain compliance, address issues promptly, and oversee smooth contract transitions, fully adhering to management system procedures.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A degree or diploma in Procurement, Business, Law, or Commerce is preferred, with an RICS qualification being a distinct advantage. The role requires a minimum of five years of experience in a similar position and industry, with experience in complex project environments, particularly in Oil and Gas, Energy, EPC, or infrastructure, being highly desirable.

Candidates should be numerically proficient and possess a strong understanding of commercial principles. Knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP systems is advantageous. A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with partners and key stakeholders is essential. Experience in quantity surveying is also important, including estimating costs, quantities, and time scales for materials and labour, assigning work to subcontractors, valuing completed work, managing budgets, and overseeing payments.
