Job Description
The Senior Commercial Manager will be responsible for the full spectrum of commercial and contract management for the Dubai project. Reporting to the Project Director and CEO, this role ensures consistent application of policies and procedures, manages daily commercial operations, and provides strategic support to project teams. Key duties include overseeing contract placement, supporting stakeholder commitments, delivering KPIs, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Additionally, the Senior Commercial Manager will monitor performance, manage cost control systems, and provide guidance on procurement strategies, claims management, and budget compliance throughout all project phases.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining master schedules, perform critical path and earned value analysis, and support extension of time (EOT) and delay claims. Leading procurement and contract strategies, negotiating terms and reviewing tender documents. Coordinating with project and finance teams to implement cost control systems and ensure budget alignment.
Providing commercial oversight during the pre-contract, design, and post-contract phases, ensuring compliance with established procedures. Liaising with consultants and contractors, manage payment processing, and monitor project expenditures.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, Building Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, along with at least 10 years of relevant commercial management experience in the construction industry. A minimum of 12 years of overall experience within the construction sector is preferred, with progressively increased responsibilities over time.
Previous work on large-scale, high-value projects in the UAE or the broader Middle East is advantageous. Active membership in a recognised professional institution, such as RICS, is also preferred.
