Job Description

The Planning Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the scheduling, planning, and project controls of large-scale, high-value developments across the UAE. Reporting to the Regional Project Director, the Planning Manager will work collaboratively within a dedicated project team to provide comprehensive planning solutions across various stages of development. This role involves maintaining master schedules, implementing effective project controls, and providing real-time updates and forecasts on project timelines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed project schedules, ensuring project goals are achieved on time and within budget. Key responsibilities include performing critical path analysis, earned value analysis, and preparing extension of time (EOT) and delay claims as necessary.

Additionally, this role includes implementing early warning systems to identify potential delays and risks, and providing mitigation strategies in coordination with the project team. The Planning Manager will ensure that planning practices are followed in line with industry standards, while providing planning support to project stakeholders and overseeing regular schedule updates, progress reports, and presentations.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of 10 years of experience in project planning and controls, with a strong background in design and project management consultancy within the Middle East. Experience in planning for high-specification projects, including hotels, luxury resorts, commercial and residential premises, and leisure facilities, is highly preferred.

Key qualifications and skills include:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Proficiency in project planning software, including Primavera P6, with experience in developing project controls and reporting systems. Demonstrated expertise in earned value analysis, critical path analysis, and EOT and delay claims.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to implement early warning systems and develop solutions to address potential project delays. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and engage with key project stakeholders. Previous experience working in a consultancy role within the Middle East is essential.
