Job Description
The Contracts Manager will oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of renewable construction projects, working closely with project teams to ensure compliance with all contract terms and conditions. Reporting to the Project Director, this role involves proactive management of contract negotiations, risk mitigation, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing all phases of contract administration from pre-award to closeout, ensuring alignment with project objectives and legal requirements. Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, variations, and claims to optimize project profitability. Collaborating with project management, legal, and procurement teams to mitigate risks, resolve disputes, and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Monitoring subcontractor compliance and managing claims, variations, and extensions of time. Providing strategic guidance on contract terms and conditions to project stakeholders, ensuring all parties are well-informed of contractual responsibilities and risks. Acting as a primary point of contact for external stakeholders regarding commercial and contractual issues.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate must have at least 8 years of experience in contract management, preferably within the construction, renewable energy, or hydropower sector. A deep understanding of construction contracts, risk management, and commercial strategies is essential, along with the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law, or a related field. Proven expertise in contract negotiation, claims management, and dispute resolution. Strong analytical and decision-making skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across departments.
