Job Description

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Leading and energizing a collaborative commercial team, including contract and finance specialists and a commercial administrator. Fostering a high-performing and accountable team culture, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Overseeing and managing all contract-related activities for a major infrastructure project. Ensuring all contracts are aligned with project goals and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Leading contract negotiations with stakeholders, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the project. Addressing and resolving disputes promptly, employing effective strategies to minimize project disruptions.

Monitoring project finances, including budgets and forecasts, to ensure financial health and adherence to project financial plans. Collaborating with finance specialists to track and manage project costs.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders. Acting as the primary point of contact for commercial issues, ensuring clear and effective communication.

Preparing and presenting regular reports on commercial aspects of the project to senior management and stakeholders. Ensuring all commercial documentation is accurate, complete, and properly archived.

Providing strategic input and guidance to optimize project performance and outcomes. Identifying and implementing best practices for contract management and commercial operations.

Education and Experience

The candidates will be required to have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Law, Finance, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to lead with a collaborative management style, fostering a close-knit, outcome-focused team. Strong commercial expertise, with proven leadership and negotiation skills essential for the role.

Experience in water or wastewater projects is highly preferred. Extensive experience in stakeholder and client engagement, with a proven track record of successful relationship management.
