Job Description
The Planning Manager / Project Controls Manager will play a vital role in overseeing project planning and control functions for a high-specification, multi-use campus project in Idaho, USA. Reporting directly to the Project Director, this role is responsible for maintaining project schedules, ensuring project milestones are met, and providing real-time reporting on progress and project status. As the project is anticipated to continue for the next two years, with additional projects in the pipeline, the role offers a long-term growth opportunity within a dynamic and expanding organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6, with a strong emphasis on baseline updates and critical path analysis. Utilising Power BI to create and present detailed weekly and monthly progress reports for project stakeholders. Conducting resource loading, tracking, and analysis to optimise workforce allocation and project efficiency.
Performing variation assessments, delay analysis, and claims support, ensuring all project adjustments are accurately documented and managed. Collaborating closely with the project management team to ensure that any changes in project scope, schedule, or budget are addressed promptly and effectively. Managing the preparation and presentation of project reports, schedules, and cost updates to clients and stakeholders.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in planning or project controls, ideally within large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. Previous site-based experience on technically complex buildings, clean rooms, and systems such as mechanical, electrical, and fire safety is advantageous.
Essential qualifications and skills include:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Proficiency in Primavera P6 for schedule management and Power BI for data visualisation and reporting. Demonstrated experience in baseline schedule updates, critical path analysis, resource allocation, and claims support. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-tech environment. Eligibility to work in the USA is highly preferred, as this position is based on-site in Idaho.
