Job Description

The Assistant Design Manager will be responsible for the progress of the design development in accordance with the Project Management and Construction Management Scope of Services. You will be responsible for managing two to three projects at the same time and lead BIM and Design Meetings and Workshops, Progress Meetings, and BIM & Design Management meetings with the various consultants, clients, and subcontractors. You will also be required to establish the methodology for ensuring the production of complete and approved design, tender, and contract documentation during the pre-construction stage, construction stage, and post-construction stage. Advise the client on all matters of planning, programming, design development, working drawings, tender documents, tender submittals, and evaluation.

Your key responsibilities are to study and review the project documents to plan for all required engineering logs according to the project programme. Assist the Design Manager to plan, organize, implement, coordinate and control the project programme, project control system (PCS), BIM360, and design workflow and construction of works. Check the IFC drawings and identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, and missing information and record, report, and track the close out of these items thru RFI and CVI and design change logs. Implement and follow the project control system, BIM360 project folder structure, and BIM workflow. Liaises with the commercial team and highlights any difference between IFC and Tender drawings, contract documents, and specifications. Plan and review the shop drawings done in-house, the material submittals and shop drawings submitted by the subcontractors, project specifications, material specifications, technical clarifications, and IFC drawings, design development regularly with the Project Manager, and ensure all these are in line for construction and programme. Assemble, consolidate, and review BIM in Navisworks and coordinate with the Construction team and M&E Team staff members to resolve any problems. Ensure that the engineering logs are updated on a daily basis and the information presented to the client/consultant within the weekly report is updated, realistic, and reflects the actual status of the engineering logs. Produce technical proposals, designs, and narratives for tender returns, ensure design compliance with local authority requirements (BCA guidelines), BIM guidelines, and populate, maintain and communicate engineering logs.

Education and Experience

The candidate should be proficient in BIM, autodesk revit 2019 (ID, MEP), naviswork 2019, autocad 2019, and enscape 2020. Should have a recognised qualification in architecture/ interior design / building services engineering or other appropriate engineering subject is preferred. Working knowledge of British, American and regional design standards is considered favorable. Prior experience in Singapore is required.

The candidate should have an experience working with a team and consultants with excellent command of both written and spoken English, articulate, and good at managing conflicts. Should have a strong planning and organisation skills.
